Wide selection of cheap Gothenburg hotels
With its 500,000 inhabitants, Gothenburg is Sweden's second largest city.
It is a modern city with a thriving commercial life and good education
opportunities, and it is a popular host of large-scale events.
Although thoroughly modern, Gothenburg nevertheless has a flourishing
cultural life and a rich history. The oldest part of the city is right
in the city centre and also includes the only surviving parts of the
city's old network of canals at Gustav Adolf's Square by Stora
Hamnkanalen, which is well worth a visit.
Gothenburg is also
a city of historical buildings. The Kronhuset and Kristina Church both
date back to the 17th Century, and the Ostindiska Kompaniets Hus dates
back to the 18th Century.
Along the Kungsportsavenyn main
street, you will find Gothenburg's cultural centre including the
Gothenburg Concert Hall, the Konsthallen Museum of Art and the
Gothenburg City Theatre.
Gothenburg also offers plenty of
shopping opportunities from small shops to large retailers of well-known
brands. You will also find plenty of good restaurants, cafés and
bars where you can rest you legs and have a drink or a delicious meal.
